The Stewards met with riders D.N. Russell and R.M. Power, Brian Flood, representing G. Elliott, trainer, David O'Brien representing E.P. Harty, trainer, Patrick O' Callaghan Racecourse Manager and Mr. T.V.O'Connell, Clerk of the Course, to consider the running of this meeting following the rapid deterioration in weather conditions owing to snow since 12 noon. Having spoken with all persons concerned, the Stewards cancelled the race meeting in the interests of safety.
